Who Are We?

Fifteen years ago, we met as members of the chemistry faculty at a Connecticut high school and became fast friends. Our prior careers as research chemists fueled our enthusiasm and passion for educating young people. As our friendship grew, conversations routinely focused on good food, exercise, and healthy living.

One especially recurring topic was the role science could play in helping people look as young and healthy as they feel. Being women of a certain age, we observed the subtle (and not so subtle) signs of aging in our skin. Topical “anti-aging” products were clearly not doing the job, so we began researching the science behind aging skin and what might be done to slow the process.

We discovered that certain nutrients, taken orally, replenish the body with the building blocks needed to maintain healthy, youthful skin. Ingesting these nutrients make them bioavailable on the cellular level. Supported by our intensive research, we carefully selected the most beneficial substances to create our beauty drink supplement.

After a couple of years of testing and perfecting our product, we decided to share it with family and friends. We had seen the improvement in our own skin but needed brutally honest feedback from other people. The positive response was overwhelming. Yes, there were improvements still to be made, but we had the confidence to go further.

We decided on Alchemist Beauty Solution as the name for two reasons. Firstly, in the field of chemistry, a solution is defined as “a liquid mixture in which the minor components (the solute) is uniformly distributed within the major component (the solvent).” Secondly, in non-scientific terms, a solution is “a means of solving a problem or dealing with a difficult situation.” In short, our solution is a solution!

Giving Back

As two female high school chemistry teachers, we have a passion for science education and gender equality in scientific careers. We strongly feel that the female presence in STEM programs needs to have greater representation. Our goal is to encourage and enable female high school seniors to pursue a career in science.

In the spirit of Rita Levi – Montalcini words, Italian neurologist and Nobel Prize winner in Physiology.“I tell young people: Do not think of yourself, think of others. Think of the future that awaits you, think about what you can do and do not fear anything."

We are in the process of setting up an annual scholarship for a female high school senior who plans to study a field of science in college. 1% of all purchases will go towards this scholarship. We hope in the future to explore other avenues to facilitate young women entering the field of science.
